Hosted by Landbouwbelang
Landbouwbelang provides the space where surplus produce becomes dinner. Its community spirit makes room for a kitchen that belongs to everyone and keeps the Friday tradition visible in the city.
Origin story
Foodbank Maastricht was founded over 12 years ago at Landbouwbelang, a cultural community space in Maastricht.
What began as a practical response to food waste became a steady weekly ritual of collecting, cooking, sharing, and learning together.

HOW IT WORKS
Foodbank Maastricht 101
From market leftovers to Friday dinner. The recipe changes every week because the ingredients do too. The rhythm stays simple: collect, cook, eat.
3:00 PM
Collect surplus produce
Everything comes from market vendors:
surplus produce that's perfectly good to eat, saved before it gets thrown away.

4:00 PM
Cook together
Return to Landbouwbelang, see what the
market gave us, decide the menu on the spot, and start cooking together.
8:00 PM
Come to the table
Dinner is communal, donation-based, and vegan. You don't need to know anyone or have any cooking experience — just show up!

About
A Friday kitchen with deep Maastricht roots
Born at Landbouwbelang, Foodbank Maastricht has grown through years of hands-on care, donated produce, and Friday evenings around one long table.
